Press Release on Celebrate Bisexuality Day, aka Bi Pride Day (#BiPrideDay)

In response to the prejudice and marginalization in both the straight and LGBT communities, many bisexuals* are made to feel, and/or opt to remain, invisible.

“Bi Pride Day” raises awareness about bisexuality, educates the community about bisexual issues; and encourages bisexual people and their allies to be visible and proud of the bisexual identity. The first Bi Pride Day occurred in 1990 when the city of San Francisco proclaimed Bi Pride Day in honor of the 1990 Conference on Bisexuality. Since 1999, Bi Pride Day (also known as Celebrate Bisexuality Day and/or Bi Visibility Day) has been held yearly on September 23rd.

Some ways to recognize Bi Pride Day this coming September 23rd, 2013:
Share with your audience and organization important facts about the bisexual community from BiNet USA 2013 Bisexual Fact Sheet (attached) or share a video and other relevant resources from the Bisexual Resource Center (below).
Have a bisexual blogger contribute a guest blog or article to your publication or organization (see list of available bloggers here.)
